Find focus groups in your city
Research facilities are based in larger metro areas, and each city page shows local in-person studies, the facilities nearby and online studies open to people in that area.
How paid focus groups work
- Find a study that fits you. Each listing shows the pay, the location or “online”, who it’s for and the company running it.
- Answer the screener. A short questionnaire checks whether you match the people the client wants to hear from. Answer honestly; inconsistent answers can get you disqualified.
- Get confirmed. If you qualify, the recruiter sends the date, time and either the facility address or the video link. For in-person sessions, bring a photo ID.
- Take part and get paid. Sessions usually last 60–120 minutes. You’re paid by cash, check, prepaid card or digital gift card, and the method is explained before you take part.
How much do paid focus groups pay?
Most focus groups pay $75–$250 for a 60–120 minute session. Short online interviews often pay $25–$75, multi-day or diary studies $150–$400 in total, and specialist studies for patients, doctors or professionals can pay $500 or more. In-person studies usually pay a bit more than online ones for the same length of session.
Paid focus groups FAQ
Are paid focus groups legit?
Yes, when they’re run by established research companies. Legitimate companies pay you for your time and never charge you to join. Every company listed on FindPaidFocusGroup pays participants and doesn’t charge a fee.
How do I find paid focus groups near me?
Use the city and state links on this page to see in-person studies and research facilities near you. If there aren’t many local studies right now, online focus groups are open to people across the US.
Who can join a focus group?
Most studies are open to US adults 18 and over. Many look for a specific profile, such as an age range, people who use a certain product, a health condition or a type of job. Each listing says who qualifies.
Do in-person focus groups pay more than online ones?
Often, yes. Because you travel to a facility, in-person studies typically pay more for the same length of session.
What should I bring to an in-person focus group?
Usually a photo ID, and glasses if you need them for reading. Some studies ask you to bring a product you use. Arrive 10–15 minutes early, because late arrivals may not be seated or paid.
How often can I take part in focus groups?
There’s no fixed limit across companies, but many recruiters ask that you haven’t taken part in a study on the same topic recently, often within the last 3–6 months. The screener will ask about this.
